Eric Grote, JD, PhD
Eric founded Grote Biotech Patent Law in 2025 after spending over a decade mastering his craft at two major law firms (WSGR and Morgan Lewis) and a cancer therapeutics company. The scientific expertise he acquiredi as a cell biologist at Johns Hopkins (principal investigator), Yale (postdoc), UCSF (PhD) and MIT (undergrad) allows him to quickly and deeply understand complex inventions and build rapport with academic scientists.
As a patent attorney, Eric has advised on patents claiming diverse life science technologies including therapeutic antibodies, CAR T cells, antibody drug conjugates, T cell engagers, stem cells, cellular replacement therapies, CRISPR, molecular diagnostics, gene therapy, vaccine platforms, immune response regulators, probiotics, and more.
Eric is licensed by the USPTO and the California bar.
